Youngsters team up to clean up

20th March ’06

This weekend four youngsters clubbed together to clean up litter around East Grinstead, starting with Mount Noddy car park and the nearby alleyway and finishing at the East Grinstead Railway Station car park.

Two bags of rubbish were collected from the alleyway and surrounds of Mount Noddy, including beer cans, cigarette packets and sweet wrappers.

At the Railway Station car park, discarded items included: a kettle, a blender, a doll, a tyre, random car parts and over 60 bottles and cans from Vodka, Beer, Wine and other spirits, and a Wellington boot!

The team cleaned up for several hours at the car park, and collected over seven bags of rubbish – with lots more still to do. All of the bottles and cans were then taken to the recycling bins at the local supermarket.

The four youngsters – Ed Nunn, Lilla Sebok, Victoria Kovesdy, Alex Re – are from the Church of Scientology in East Grinstead and are working with the Church’s ‘Say No To Drugs, Say Yes to Life’ campaign, and will be continuing to clean up the local areas over the coming weeks. All offers of help are gratefully accepted!
